Basketball Game Preview: Taylorsville Tartars vs. Mount Olive Pirates

Taylorsville has gone 6-0 against Mount Olive recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Taylorsville Tartars will challenge the Mount Olive Pirates at 4:00 p.m. Taylorsville will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Taylorsville strolled past Leake County with points to spare, taking the game 48-33.

Taylorsville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayla Nixon, who posted 12 points. Those 12 points gave Nixon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was London Young, who put up 12 points.

Meanwhile, Mount Olive came into Tuesday's game having lost 21 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their defense stepped up to hand Mississippi School for the Deaf a 12-0 shutout on Tuesday.

Taylorsville is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-13 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.7 points. As for Mount Olive, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-17.
