Basketball Recap: Jakari Braggs' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mcintosh over Southern Choctaw

McIntosh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 48-32 to the Southern Choctaw Indians. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Demons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-35 last Thursday.

McIntosh's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jakari Braggs, who posted seven points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Kyler Dixon, who scored nine points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, McIntosh smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Braylen Jones was his usual excellent self, putting up 13 points in addition to eight steals and six boards for Southern Choctaw. Demarco Johnson was another key player, earning eight points and seven rebounds.

McIntosh's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Southern Choctaw, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Leroy the next time they take the court. Southern Choctaw will host Leroy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while McIntosh will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th.
