Preview: Liberty Red Devils vs. GREEN Upstate Owls
After two games on the road, Liberty is heading back home. They will take on the GREEN Upstate Owls at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 93-54, which was the final score in Liberty's tilt against Spartanburg on Saturday. Liberty was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-29.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Dawson Owen, who scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds. He scored a full 35.2% of Liberty's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendrick Jackson, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, GREEN Upstate's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 85-43 loss at the hands of Greer Middle College.
Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for GREEN Upstate, the last time they won on the road was back last Thursday. Having now lost three straight away contests, they've bumped their record down to 1-4.
Liberty took their victory against GREEN Upstate in their previous meeting on Monday by a conclusive 76-53. Will Liberty repeat their success, or does GREEN Upstate have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
