Softball Game Preview: Liberty Chargers vs. St. Cloud Bulldogs

Liberty hasn't had much luck against St. Cloud recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Chargers will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. Liberty has given up an average of 20.5 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Liberty came up short against Tohopekaliga on Thursday, falling 17-2. That's two games in a row now that the Chargers have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Meanwhile, St. Cloud has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.83 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They lost 14-1 to Matanzas. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since February 25th.

St. Cloud moved to 13-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Liberty, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.

Liberty couldn't quite get it done against St. Cloud in their previous meeting back in April of 2022 as they fell 6-2. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
