Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McDaniel). Everything went their way against the Franklin Quakers on Wednesday as they made off with an 18-3 win. The victory was nothing new for the Mountain Lions as they're now sitting on four straight.
McDaniel got a massive performance out of Amira Edwards, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. That home run was Edwards' first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylie Schmitz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with six RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
McDaniel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .647. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
McDaniel pushed their record up to 5-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
