Softball Game Preview: Franklin-Simpson Wildcats vs. Westmoreland Eagles

The Franklin-Simpson Wildcats will challenge the Westmoreland Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Franklin-Simpson has given up an average of 6.7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Franklin-Simpson's offense. They came up short against Daviess County on Saturday, falling 16-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered since April 14th.

Meanwhile, Westmoreland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Clay County. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by just one run.

Westmoreland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabrielle Hale, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Franklin-Simpson and nudges their season record down to 10-12-1. As for Westmoreland, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
