Austin McKimmy was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Diego Patino was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tri-Township). Everything went their way against Bowman Academy on Thursday as they made off with a 25-2 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.
Kade KoselKe was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Dillon Stewart was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with five stolen bases, five runs, and two RBI. Those five runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ethan Dailey, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, five RBI, and three runs.
Hammond Academy of Science & Tech is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Tri-Township, their record now sits at 5-12.
Tri-Township's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hammond Academy of Science & Tech has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .568. It's a different story for Tri-Township, though, as they've only averaged .365. Will they be able to contain Hammond Academy of Science & Tech's hitters?
Hammond Academy of Science & Tech took their win against Tri-Township when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 17-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
