Soccer Game Preview: Mundelein vs. Jacobs

The Mundelein Mustangs will head out to take on the Jacobs Golden Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mundelein is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Mundelein is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They put the hurt on Round Lake with a sharp 9-0 victory on Tuesday. Given Mundelein's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 69th, while Round Lake are ranked 235th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous six match, Jacobs brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They walked away with a 4-2 win over Hampshire on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Mundelein's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those five games. As for Jacobs, they now have a winning record of 3-2-3.
