Softball Recap: Southlake Carroll Comes Up Short

If Southlake Carroll was riding high fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Trinity last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Southlake Carroll Dragons came up short against the Marcus Marauders on Friday, falling 10-4. The match marked the Dragons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Southlake Carroll saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sammy Petkus, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, Petkus posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024.

Having lost for the first time this season, Southlake Carroll fell to 7-1. As for Marcus, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Southlake Carroll will take on Lone Star at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Lone Star is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Marcus, they will square off against McKinney Boyd at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. McKinney Boyd will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Marcus surely won't give up without a fight.
