Manatee's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Bayshore Bruins as they made off with a 12-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now won six in a row.

The team relied heavily on Ashton Hovda, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Harlan, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Manatee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .636. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Manatee's record is now 14-8. As for Bayshore, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-8.

Manatee and Bayshore could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Hurricanes will square off against Alcoa at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (179 vs. 27). Meanwhile, Bayshore (ranked 471st) will meet Seminole (ranked 140th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
