Recap: King William Cavaliers vs. Bruton Panthers
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the King William Cavaliers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past Bruton 54-13 at home. The victory was nothing new for King William as they're now sitting on five straight.
King William's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marty Braxton led the charge by rushing for 152 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Trenton Stallings was another key contributor, rushing for 66 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.
King William pushed their record up to 6-6 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.7 points per game. As for Bruton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
King William will head out on the road to face off against Poquoson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Poquoson is ranked 132nd, while King William is ranked 152nd). Bruton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
