Yorktown hadn't done well against Ben Bolt recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Yorktown Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Ben Bolt Badgers. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by just one run.

Yorktown let Rylie Krueger and Lorelai Gowens run wild. Krueger scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Gowens scored a run while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Gowens a new career-high in RBI (two). Paige Deleon also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

The victory got Yorktown back to even at 2-2. As for Ben Bolt, they dropped their record down to 0-8-1 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats duke it out with the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Yorktown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Ben Bolt, they will take on Pettus at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
