Football Recap: Newburyport Takes a Loss

Newburyport fell victim to North Reading and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 24-0 to the Hornets. The Clippers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Newburyport's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for North Reading, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Newburyport and Amesbury will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 10:00 a.m. on November 27. The Redhawks' defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so the Clippers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for North Reading, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lynnfield at 10:00 a.m. on November 27.
