Basketball Recap: Decatur Central Takes a Loss

Decatur Central lost against Pike back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Decatur Central Hawks took a blow against the Pike Red Devils, falling 73-30. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Red Devils are ranked 15th).

Decatur Central has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Pike, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.

Decatur Central will venture away from home to face off against Greenwood at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. As for Pike, they will host Ben Davis at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Pike's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.
