Pana is 9-1 against Gillespie since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Panthers will challenge the Miners at 7:00 p.m. Pana will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Thursday, Pana narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Southwestern 2-1.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Pana got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-10, 18-25, 25-19.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Gillespie, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against East Alton-Wood River by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday.

Gillespie easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-18.

Pana's record is now 15-6. As for Gillespie, their record now sits at 6-10.

Pana was able to grind out a solid win over Gillespie in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Miners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
