Baseball Game Preview: Bushland Falcons vs. River Road Wildcats

Bushland has gone a perfect 10-0 against River Road recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Falcons will welcome the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Bushland will be strutting in after a victory while River Road will be coming in after a loss.

Bushland barely beat Tulia the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Hornets on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Colton Reynolds was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Max Rodriguez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Bushland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tulia only posted an OBP of .286.

Meanwhile, River Road was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They came up short against Dalhart, falling 8-2.

Bushland is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for River Road, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.

Bushland took their victory against River Road when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 34-2 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
