Preview: Homefires Flames vs. First Baptist Christian
Homefires has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge First Baptist Christian at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Homefires focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 back in December of 2023.
Back in December of 2023, Homefires came up short against First Baptist Christian and fell 61-50.
Despite their defeat, Homefires saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Colin Chesnut, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals, was perhaps the best of all. Chesnut is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Reagan Rademacher, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Homefires struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Homefires now has a losing record at 2-3. As for First Baptist Christian, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-3.
Homefires came up short against First Baptist Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 61-50. Can Homefires avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
