Baseball Recap: Frontier Comes Up Short

Frontier lost against Newkirk back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs lost 10-4 to the Tigers. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Luke Draffin put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Kolton Ingmire was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Frontier's record is now 4-9. As for Newkirk, they now have a winning record of 8-7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frontier will square off against Oklahoma Bible at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Newkirk, they will challenge Perry at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
