Soccer Game Preview: Wilmington Charter vs. Newark Charter School

The Wilmington Charter Force are taking a road trip to face off against the Newark Charter School Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Wilmington Charter's last six matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Wilmington Charter is headed into the contest having not lost since the 11th and will look to keep things rolling. Neither they nor Caravel Academy could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Newark Charter School, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Archmere Academy on Wednesday, sneaking past 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Newark Charter School were the better team in the second half.

Newark Charter School's win bumped their record up to 2-3. Wilmington Charter's draw gives them a new season record of 6-1-3.

Everything went Wilmington Charter's way against Newark Charter School in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Wilmington Charter made off with a 6-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Force since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
