Baseball Recap: Maplesville Starts Season with Loss at Home

Maplesville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fayetteville Wolves on Saturday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Braden Atcheson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Pearce Yergan, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

The victory (which was Fayetteville's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maplesville will host Holtville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fayetteville, they will take on Comer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
