Volleyball Recap: Parkway South Falls Short Against Ranked Lutheran South

Parkway South faced Lutheran South in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Patriots came up short against the Lancers, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

While Parkway South was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-23, 25-19.

When it comes to explaining why Parkway South lost, don't look at Jack McClanahan. Despite the final result, he had ten digs and two aces. McClanahan has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times he's played.

Among those leading the charge was Malachi Seying, who had 18 digs.

Parkway South's loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Lutheran South, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-7-2 record this season.

Parkway South will challenge Oakville at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Lutheran South, they will face off against Fox at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
