Preview: Basehor-Linwood Bobcats vs. De Soto Wildcats

Basehor-Linwood has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The De Soto Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Basehor-Linwood had just enough and edged Seaman out 27-24. That's two games straight that Basehor-Linwood has won by exactly three points.

Basehor-Linwood haved a senior duo take command as Sam Boetcher rushed for 159 yards and three touchdowns and Kaleb Scott picked up 220 receiving yards and a touchdown. Boetcher was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Brady Vandonge was another key player, having thrown for 286 yards And onetouchdown.

Meanwhile, De Soto had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They blew past Turner, posting a 49-0 win on the road. The result was nothing new for De Soto, who have now won six contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

De Soto can attribute much of their success to Jayden Lang, who rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and Drew Parks, who threw for 91 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.

Basehor-Linwood's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-2. De Soto has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first seven contests, giving them a 6-1 record.

We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as both teams have no problem gaining yardage. Basehor-Linwood has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 366.9 total yards per game. However, it's not like De Soto struggles in that department as they've been even better at 371.4 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.

Basehor-Linwood came up short against De Soto in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 31-21. Can Basehor-Linwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
