Basketball Recap: Our Lady of Mercy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Mount Mercy Academy last Friday, Our Lady of Mercy came back down to earth. The Our Lady of Mercy Monarchs fell to the East Eagles 52-48. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Monarchs of the 57-56 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Our Lady of Mercy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for East, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Our Lady of Mercy and East should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. Our Lady of Mercy (ranked 52nd) will meet Mount St. Mary Academy (ranked 387th) at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Our Lady of Mercy is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games. Similarly, East will take on Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on February 19th up 545 places (144 vs. 689). Our Lady of Mercy is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road.
