Softball Game Preview: Socastee Braves vs. North Myrtle Beach Chiefs

For the second straight game, Socastee will face off against North Myrtle Beach. Socastee will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Myrtle Beach at 6:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Socastee has struggled recently with 12 losses in a row, while North Myrtle Beach will arrive with four straight wins.

On Wednesday, Socastee came up short against North Myrtle Beach and fell 7-3.

For North Myrtle Beach's part, Nealy Lockner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts gave Lockner a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kiera Olson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).
