Palmyra-Eagle and Deerfield are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2022, but likely not for long. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Demons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Palmyra-Eagle's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Deerfield's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Palmyra-Eagle and Parkview, and Palmyra-Eagle kept the tradition alive. The Panthers came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 8-4 on Friday.

Ryan Brodzik made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over 6.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Alex Harbison was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Dillen Patrick was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Deerfield scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 27-18 to Williams Bay. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (14), the Demons still had to take the loss.
Zander Hart led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Brattlie, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Palmyra-Eagle has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Deerfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-1.
Palmyra-Eagle beat Deerfield 4-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Demons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
