Basketball Game Preview: Chattahoochee County Panthers vs. Macon County Bulldogs

The Chattahoochee County Panthers will take on the Macon County Bulldogs in a holiday battle at at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Chattahoochee County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season.

Macon County is facing Chattahoochee County at the wrong time: Chattahoochee County suffered their first home loss of the season on Tuesday and they're likely out for redemption. They took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The matchup was a 26-26 toss-up at halftime, but the Panthers couldn't quite close it out.

The losing side was boosted by Champ Simpson, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 20 points and three steals. His evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jaquan Ellington was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Macon County). They breezed by Dooly County to the tune of 97-58 on Friday. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 22 points or more this season.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Macon County, bringing their record for this year to 6-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 44.2 points. As for Chattahoochee County, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4.

Things could have been worse for Chattahoochee County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 68-54 loss to Macon County in their previous meeting back in January. Can Chattahoochee County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
