Volleyball Recap: Monrovia Starts off Right with Win over Plainfield

Monrovia had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Plainfield Quakers.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-18, 25-10.

Derby P. Gilkerson paced Monrovia's offense, picking up 21 kills. Gilkerson got some help from Maddox Miller and his 33 assists. Gilkerson was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Monrovia has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Whiteland on the 5th. As for Plainfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Avon on the 5th.
