Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Tigers vs. Faith Christian Academy Conquerors
Trinity Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Faith Christian Academy Conquerors, falling 70-43. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent loss being a 58-37 defeat back in January.
Despite the loss, Trinity Christian had strong showings from Christian LoPresti, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Simon Townsend, who posted ten points. The dominant performance also gave LoPresti a new career-high in blocks (two).
Faith Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaxon Howard led the charge by putting up 18 points in addition to six assists and four steals. As for Faith Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against New Bern Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Faith Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 matches -- so hopefully New Bern Christian Academy likes a good challenge.
