Meanwhile, Bakersfield Christian put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They didn't even let Independence on the board, marking the Eagles' second-straight 10-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Cailee Carr was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
Bakersfield Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Independence only managed two hits.
Bakersfield Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Garces Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 18-7.
Both Garces Memorial and Bakersfield Christian just can't seem to miss. The Rams have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Bakersfield Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
