Basketball Recap: Anthony Fresh Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Borden

Charlestown won the last time they faced Borden and things went their way on Saturday too. The Charlestown Pirates walked away with a 64-52 win over the Borden Braves. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Braves are ranked 231st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Charlestown got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anthony Fresh out in front who went 9 of 15 on his way to 24 points and eight boards. The match was Fresh's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Keevin Bowman was another key player, going 6 for 8 en route to 12 points and six rebounds.

Charlestown pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Borden, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-5.

Charlestown will host Madison at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Charlestown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63 points per game this season. Borden has already played their next game (against Shoals), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
