Baseball Recap: Damien Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Damien hadn't done well against Mid-Pacific Institute recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Monarchs won by a run and slipped past the Owls 4-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 two weeks ago.

Damien is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Mid-Pacific Institute, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Damien is set to take on their familiar foe St. Louis at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mid-Pacific Institute will challenge rival Pac-Five at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
