Softball Game Preview: Mountain Brook Spartans vs. McAdory Yellowjackets

Mountain Brook is 1-6 against McAdory since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Mountain Brook Spartans will square off against the McAdory Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. Mountain Brook has given up an average of 7.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Mountain Brook is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They lost 14-3 to Pelham.

Marianna Murray and Reagan Rape did some serious damage despite the final result: Murray went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Rape scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, McAdory and Helena finished up their match with a 3-3 draw on Friday.

Mountain Brook's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. McAdory's draw gives them a new season record of 11-5-1.

Mountain Brook suffered a grim 12-3 defeat to McAdory when the teams last played back in April of 2021. Can Mountain Brook avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
