Pomperaug has gone 6-1 against Brookfield recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pomperaug has four straight wins, Brookfield has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Pomperaug is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: Rockville, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Pomperaug was ranked 22nd). The Panthers put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 3-0 victory on Friday.

While Pomperaug won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-9, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Brookfield lost 3-0 to Newtown on Thursday.

While Brookfield was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Newtown's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-15, 25-20.

Brookfield's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Pomperaug, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Pomperaug took their victory against Brookfield in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
