Softball Recap: Rogers Comes Up Short

After flying high against Northside on Thursday, Rogers came back down to earth. The Mountaineers fell 4-1 to the Bentonville West Wolverines on Tuesday. The Mountaineers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolverines earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Rogers' defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Bentonville West, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Rogers will square off against Fayetteville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mountaineers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Bentonville West, they will take on Har-Ber at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Wolverines' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
