Volleyball Recap: Staples Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Staples can now relate to. They fell just short of the Ludlowe Falcons by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Wreckers have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Sofia Cilano was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 11 digs and three aces. Another player making a difference was Mary Jane McGowan, who had seven digs and two aces.

Staples' defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Ludlowe, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season.

Staples does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ludlowe, they will take on Warde at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
