Basketball Recap: West Mesquite Comes Up Short

West Mesquite extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-3. They lost 60-38 to the Ennis Lions. If the Wranglers were looking for revenge after losing 51-36 to the Lions when the teams met back in November of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Ennis, the win got them back to even at 2-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ennis to victory, but perhaps none more so than Armani Tarrant, who posted 14 points. Makenzie Bodine was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. West Mesquite will challenge Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ennis, they will take on China Spring at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
