Basketball Recap: Red Oak Takes a Loss

Red Oak was the 48-40 winner over Horn when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hawks fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 67-64 on Saturday.

Despite the loss, Red Oak still got an impressive performance from Devan Kirk, who posted ten points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Kirk now owns an excellent 45.5% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Ty Buis, who scored six points and three steals.

Red Oak now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Horn, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Red Oak will square off against Cedar Hill at 8:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks will be up against the Longhorns' rather soft defense (which has allowed 60.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Horn, they will take on Richardson at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
