The Snake River Panthers will face off against the American Falls Beavers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Snake River's win against Teton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Timberwolves 5-4 on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now won five in a row.

Caleb Hons made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Snake River is undefeated when Hons allows one or fewer earned runs, but 1-15 otherwise. Hons was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Paxton Christensen, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Preston Wheatley, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask American Falls). They put the hurt on Bear Lake with a sharp 11-3 win on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Beavers needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Like Snake River, American Falls also got a great game from a two-way player: Xavier Parrish. He struck out 11 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Parrish was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jose Rascon was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season. Dominyk Chesler was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
American Falls' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-18. As for Snake River, their win bumped their record up to 4-15.
Snake River got the 'W' when the teams last played last Friday against American Falls by a conclusive 12-0 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Beavers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
