Soccer Recap: St. Benedict at Auburndale Takes a Loss

St. Benedict at Auburndale lost against Memphis University School last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles fell just short of the Owls by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, St. Benedict at Auburndale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Memphis University School are ranked 17th).

St. Benedict at Auburndale's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-7-1. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Memphis University School, Briarcrest Christian, and Christian Brothers. As for the Owls, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-2 record this season.

St. Benedict at Auburndale will host Christian Brothers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Christian Brothers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something St. Benedict at Auburndale surely won't give up without a fight. As for Memphis University School, they are taking a road trip to square off against Briarcrest Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
