Basketball Recap: Madison County Takes a Loss

Madison County lost against Orange County on December 3rd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Madison County Mountaineers took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Orange County Fighting Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Mountaineers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Fighting Hornets are ranked 89th).

Madison County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Orange County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Madison County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-45 win against Page County on the 20th. As for Orange County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-48 victory against Charlottesville on the 20th.
