Basketball Recap: Dover Falls Despite Big Games from Caden Green and Kayden Brinson

Dover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 67-44 to the Ellenville Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 783rd, while the Blue Devils are ranked 346th).

Despite the loss, Dover had strong showings from Kayden Brinson, who posted 15 points in addition to 20 steals and 20 blocks, and Caden Green, who earned ten points along with 20 rebounds and ten steals. With that strong performance, Brinson is now averaging an impressive 3.2 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Billy Sedor, who had three points along with seven steals and six boards.

Even though they lost, Dover smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Dover's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Ellenville, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.

Coming up, Dover will welcome Millbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dover is facing Millbrook at the right time seeing as Millbrook is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Ellenville, they will head out to face off against Webutuck at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Webutuck: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Ellenville has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
