Baseball Recap: University Trojans vs. Waco Lions
University had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Waco Lions as they made off with a 20-2 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-5 on Tuesday.
Matt Turrubiartez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.

In other batting news, Carlos Perez and Armando Cervantez did most of the damage at the plate: Perez got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Cervantez went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Cervantez a new career-high. Asa Sutton was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
