Softball Recap: St. Patrick Fighting Irish vs. Wesson Cobras

St. Patrick extended their postseason success on Thursday against Wesson. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Wesson Cobras. Winning may never get old, but St. Patrick sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Allee Bennett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tara Nasakaitis, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Zoriah Martin was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

St. Patrick has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 24-11 record this season. As for Wesson, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 24-5-1.
