The Woodhaven Warriors will square off against the Beal City Aggies at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Woodhaven comes in on nine and Beal City on 12.
Woodhaven had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Clarkston on Saturday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 11-4 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 contests by six runs or more this season.
Woodhaven got a massive performance out of Ariel Krueger, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most RBI Krueger has posted since back in April of 2024. Mia Taylor was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple.
Meanwhile, Beal City earned a 9-6 victory over Grand Haven on Saturday.
Dakota Dodak made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emily Taylor, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Madason Fisher, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
Beal City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .435 or higher in four consecutive games.
Beal City pushed their record up to 25-3 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.1 runs over those games. As for Woodhaven, their win bumped their record up to 24-4.
Saturday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Woodhaven hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .402. However, it's not like Beal City struggles in that department as they've averaged .445. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
