Meanwhile, Monte Alto can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They escaped with a win against Vanguard Academy Beethoven by the margin of a single free throw, 40-39.

Monte Alto's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for IDEA Pharr, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
