Baseball Recap: Immaculata Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

Immaculata hadn't done well against Bridgewater-Raritan recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Spartans never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 last Tuesday.

Immaculata got a great performance from Jackson Trego as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 5.2 innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jayden Capindica, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Colin Kassai, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Immaculata has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs this season. As for Bridgewater-Raritan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Immaculata will square off against West Essex at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bridgewater-Raritan, they will challenge Rancocas Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
