Softball Recap: Gardiner Tigers vs. Nokomis Warriors

Gardiner lost against Nokomis back in April of 2017, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tigers wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since May 15, 2024.

MOLLY TAKATSU was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. TAKATSU was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

TAKATSU wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was BRYNLEA CHAISSON, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Gardiner dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Nokomis, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gardiner will welcome Lawrence at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Nokomis, they will host Hall-Dale at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
