Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Moorhead). They secured an 85-80 W over the Fargo North Spartans on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Spuds' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 95th in Minnesota, while the Spartans are ranked tenth in North Dakota).

Moorhead's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.0 points per game. As for Fargo North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moorhead will head out to face off against St. Michael-Albertville at 3:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Fargo North, they and Detroit Lakes will face off at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
