Softball Recap: Lake Region Find Success

Lake Region won the last time they faced Sacopee Valley and things went their way on Thursday too. The Lakers came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 9-4.

Ava Cole made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Cole was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Vylet Robbins was incredible, going 1-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Ella Gibbons was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The victory got Lake Region back to even at 1-1. As for Sacopee Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Lake Region will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Yarmouth at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sacopee Valley, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Lisbon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
