Herscher waltzed into their matchup on Monday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They walked away with a 41-34 victory over the Wilmington Wildcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 44-41 last Monday.

Wilmington's loss came despite strong showings from Sami Liaromatis and Skylar Rossow. Liaromatis posted 12 points along with seven boards and five steals, while Rossow put up eight points and five rebounds.

Herscher's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Wilmington, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-4.

Herscher and Coal City will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wilmington will take on Peotone in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
